This test is available only for Combined Defense Services in the form of a paper and pencil test. We have outlined the process of determining how the CDS score will be calculated in the following bullet points:

UPSC CDS Merit List 2021

  • The names of the candidates will be included in the list of candidates who are expected to obtain the qualifying marks in the written examination.
  • The written test and SSB interview must be cleared by the candidate separately.
  • Apart from the written test and SSB interview, the final merit list will be prepared by adding all the marks obtained in both.

What will happen after CDS 2021?

If the candidate has secured the qualifying marks in the CDS written test, then he/she will have to appear for the SSB Test or Interview. In order to attend the CDS interview conducted by the Services Selection Board, candidates have to obtain the prescribed set of documents.

It is mainly the results of the written test and SSB test/interview used to determine the final result of the interview. During the five days that the SSB interview takes place, candidates go through a series of physical and psychological tests to decide whether they are fit for the officer post.

UPSC CDS Selection Process 2021

Written test and personal interview are used to select candidates for CDS posts. If a candidate clears the CDS written test, he/she will be called for personal interview with the State Selection Board. Know below what happens at each stage of the selection process.

Written exam: The written test consists of three subjects, namely: English, Mathematics and Physics. Each segment is divided into two sections which each last for two hours. There is only one written test per candidate. Candidates qualifying the written test by securing minimum marks will be called for personal interview.
