JNU Admission News: The Jawaharlal Nehru University, during its Academic Council meeting today i.e. January 12, has announced the JNU Admission-cum-JNU Admissions-cum-For its various academic programs from next year through a Common University Entrance Test (CUET) to be conducted by the National Testing Agency or Decided to conduct entrance exam. The decision to conduct the Common Universities Entrance Test or CUET for admission to various JNU programs for the academic year 2022-23 was taken at the 159th Academic Council meeting of the university after overwhelming support from its members.

Admission to JNU through CUET was in line with the earlier decision of the Academic Council to adopt and admit students through a common university entrance test in its 157th meeting of the Academic Council held on March 22, 2021, whenever granted by the NTA. JNU entrance exam will be planned.
“During the deliberations in the Academic Council, a large number of members including Deans of Schools, Center Presidents and external members of the Council emphasized that CUCET will provide a level playing field to many deserving students across the country thereby reducing the burden. However, the JNU Teachers’ Association or JNUTA has given ‘tremendous’ support to the Academic Council’s claim about admission to JNU through CUET.
JNUTA said, “After the members ended the meeting without allowing them to speak despite raising their hands, it is ironic that the university administration claimed ‘overwhelming’ support for all the decisions taken in the Academic Council meeting held today. while issuing a press note.” said.
Till now, from 2019 onwards, JNU Admission in various programs has been conducted by the University through JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE) in collaboration with NTA in CBT mode conducted at various examination centers in the country.
It may be mentioned that apart from JNU, Delhi University or DU has also decided to conduct admission to its various undergraduate and postgraduate programs through CUET from the next academic year.
